Spotlight #32

The Wharf

Thank you Mark Beckett for speaking with Rob Chevez about The Wharf cluster in Reston, VA.

The Wharf is a community of fifty-five contemporary townhomes in Reston, VA clustered around two ponds and built in the architectural style of a New England fishing village.  The Wharf features two warm-water fish ponds, an outflow pond, a creek, a waterfall and aerating fountains. The ponds are stocked with bluegill sunfish and large-mouth bass to keep the insect population under control during the spring and summer months. Frogs, ducks, geese, herons, and turtles are all common visitors during that time. Native species of grasses, trees, bushes and flowers adorn the ponds, creek, and perimeter of the community and residences.
